I don't know whether it is just sad to get so excited about the opening of an IKEA or whether we really do need one in Malaga. When we moved into our new apartment on the Costa del Sol within the Marbella region we actually drove to Seville to visit the IKEA store. Driving to Seville from the Malaga region takes between two and a half and three hours. With the new IKEA in Malaga there's no need to drive for three hours to get your IKEA fix.
I guess your question is probably was it worth the drive? In actual fact it probably was, visiting an IKEA can be quite exciting, there is so much choice, you can purchase regular household items at very reasonable prices and you are surrounded by thousands of like minded people on the hunt for bargains and stylish furniture at reasonable prices. Back to Malaga. We heard about IKEA opening in Malaga about two years ago, the word was already on the street. Furniture and interior design are big business on the Costa del Sol. With so many new apartments and villas completing every year there is a need for home furnishing of all types and price ranges. The new Malaga IKEA is located close to Malaga airport, if coming from the direction of Marbella take the Malaga airport exit and head towards the airport. You cannot miss the big blue and yellow building and hundreds of cars entering their massive car park |
